SEPWA’s HISTORY & DIRECTION
Who we are…
The South East Premium Wheatgrowers Association (SEPWA) is a not-for-profit, grower-led group located in the south east of Western Australia. Since its inception in 1993, SEPWA has established a strong reputation as a well-established
grower group committed to improving the profitability and sustainability of grain growers in the Esperance Port Zone.

The group was initially formed to address the perception that the region’s wheat quality was inferior to other areas. Founding members set about helping growers to produce premium quality grain to improve market position. SEPWA has
since moved on from this original aim but still strongly retains it as a major objective.
The group now also undertakes trials looking at other commodities such as barley, canola and legumes, as well as projects focused on a variety of topics as varied as communication issues to snail management. SEPWA also coordinates
valuable field days every year right across the district.
Over the years, our projects have broadened to focus on the bigger picture of agricultural production in the South East.
SEPWA is funded through grower

A number of SUB COMMITTEES
Effectively help to run SEPWA
Two very active sub-committees that function under SEPWA are the Esperance Farm Office Management Group, also known as E-FOM, and the Youth in Ag sub-committee.
E-FOM (Esperance Farm Office Management)
E-FOM members hold seminars throughout the year to look closely at issues relating to running an effective farm office, and offer advice and support through their
Facebook page. You can acccess the
EFOM platform here.
Youth in Ag
Youth-in-Ag was formed to give younger members of the agricultural industry a chance for networking and the chance to further develop their skills and knowledge within the industry and they are also connected through their
Facebook page.
